Porcelain Crab hiding under an anemone

I just love how you can find really interesting critters underneath an anemone skirt. But I really hate how jumpy porcelain crabs can get as they try to hide themselves from the camera.

Goby Time!

I enjoy shooting goby and blenny fish because they’re so small and I’m not quite sure if they’re resting or hovering above the corals. They have rather interesting markings as well in their semi-transparent skin as you can see from the facial markings of this particular goby.

Frogfish Eye

I really liked how this B&W filter turned out. It gives a clearer drama on the frogfish (see the eye) waiting for its prey to swim a bit nearer so it could lure it into its mouth. This was shot in Secret Bay in Anilao.

Trumpetfish Portrait

Here’s a close up of a trumpetfish that was pretty much very still in the Dari Laut wreck in Anilao. The Instagram filter here really highlighted the blue-green pattern around its body as well as the eye.

Mantis Shrimp in Wait

This is a mantis shrimp inside its hole waiting for food swim by. No matter what Instagram filter I used, the eyes remain cold and blank. Eerie to be honest.

Shot in Secret Bay.
